A couple of Drink Ideas for Tiki Oasis 2015 and it's sci-fi theme

We stopped by a Total Wine and More after lunch on Father’s Day to see if they had any interesting Wines –and stumbled across a couple of items that fit perfectly with this year’s Tiki Oasis theme.
The first thing that caught my eye was this selection of Three Tequilas from Alien Tequila.

I’m not a Tequila drinker –but for those that are these bottles would look great at your Sci-fi themed Room Crawl at Tiki Oasis.

The Alien Tequila is a company out of the Las Vegas that I recalled seeing somewhere before.  When I looked them up online I recalled that I had seen them on the short lived TV show Naked Vegas---that followed a company that did body painting.  Alien Tequila had been on the show as a client that wanted some painted aliens for a party featuring their product.   Here is their website.   (skip the weird homemade videos advertising the product)
Here are a couple of their drink recipes that would look cool at a Room Crawl.
The Abduction:

  • 1 1/2 oz Alien Tequila Silver
  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Rum
  • 1 oz Gin
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • 1 1/2 oz Sweet & Sour Mix
  • Pour into glass with a splash of Coke

The Little Green Men
  •  1 1/2 oz Alien Tequila Silver
  • 1 1/4 oz Midori
  • 1/2 oz Mailbu Bananas
  • 3/4 oz Rose's Lime Juice
  • Shake ingredients with ice and pout into glass--Top off with Sprite

The Deep Impact
  • 1 1/4 oz Alien Tequila Silver
  • 3/4 oz Chambord
  • 3/4 oz Blue Curacao
  • 1/4 oz  Rose's Lime Juice
  • Red Bull
  • Shake ingredients with ice and pour - Top off with Red Bull

The other thing we saw at Total Wine and more was this beer called Cosmonaut Blonde Ale.   I bought one of these to try to see if it should make the cooler that will be heading down to San Diego in August.
Love the label that has an art style that should be familiar to many folks.

Retro/Tiki News : Some cool upcoming fun at Downtown Disney this summer: SHAG, Rockabilly, Polynesian Music

A Retro/Tiki  News update!!
Retro/Tiki fun coming to Downtown Disney

Here is a quick list of some cool stuff happening at Downtown Disney this Summer that may interest the Retro/Tiki crowd.

The Great thing about this is that you can park for the first couple of hours for free at the Downtown Disney Parking lot and it doesn't cost anything to get into Downtown Disney:

Theses events are connected with Disneyland's 60th Anniversary.
It seems like all of these events are perfect for the lovers of Retro and or Tiki.   I'm definitely going to head over there on July 25th for SHAG singing at the WonderGround Gallery --but may be able to hit one of the other events as well since I work down the street from Disneyland.   Here is a list of what is going on from Downtownd Disney's own website.

Tiki Beer and Hard Cider: A couple of things at Bevmo that could be good for Tiki Oasis

We stopped at the local Bevmo in Long Beach and came across a few Beers and a Hard Cider that would be perfect for Tiki Oasis this year.  We may have to make a Bevmo stop on the way to San Diego in August.

Here is a Beer with Tiki's on the Label from a Brewing Company called  Avery out of Colorado.    Here are some opinions of the beer from the Beer Advocate website.

Here is the Bikini Blonde Lager from the Maui Brewing Company.
I've actually had this beer while at Taco Asylum at The Camp in the OC.   It was a smooth German Style Pilsner.   It went really good with something salty like fries.    Here is the Maui Brewing Companies website:

I'm going to have to try this one.  This beer should be my personal mascot.   I love anyway Pineapple....I love Wheat Beers like Shock Top and Hefs.   This beer seems to combine the two.  This beer is from the SanTan Brewing Company out of Arizona.

 Here is their website.

A Pineapple Hard Cider.   Yep they have that too.   From Ace Premium Hard Cider.

Here is their Website
