Tiki Time on Memorial Day weekend!

We started off the weekend with a little trip to Don the Beachcomber's  to hang out in the Dagger Bar and see the Hula Girls while snacking on sliders and Brie  Quesadillas.

It looks like we have entered Mermaid Waters.

We stayed and listened to 3 great sets from the Hula Girls which will be playing on the main stage at Tiki Oasis again this year.

Had a Mai Tai and  a drink that was basically a Mai Tai in a Pineapple....Appropriate for the Pineappleman

Saturday brought us to Laguna Beach for a couple of photo shoots my wife had scheduled with friends and a nice lunch at Las Brisas and then another Tiki Themed dinner at Tommy Bahama's restaurant which had the best  goat cheese filled chicken ever.

Then Sunday brought us to meet friends at Downtown Disney. So we headed to Trader Sam's for a couple of drinks and chicken lettuce wraps and some flatbread.

The day before was apparently the 2nd Anniversary for Trader Sam's which meant a new Mug.....which I had to get of course......

Thus ended a very Tiki Memorial Day

Just another reason to head on out to Trader Sam's at Downtown Disney.  The Halloween season rings in with a new Zombie Mug at Trader Sam's by Tiki Farm...

And the Zombies are getting really exited over this news.  They are literally losing their brains over it

My quest for a Trader Sam's Tiki Mug:

A quest for a Trader Sam's  Tiki Mug??   Why not. 
After seeing the new Tiki mug which I posted a link about a few weeks ago I've been itching to get out and get one for myself.  With Carsland and Buena Vista street at DCA about to open my to do list of Disney things is a vast one.  There are going to be so many  new Disney things to see in the coming weeks I had to go and get my Tiki fix first.  So I journeyed out to Trader Sam's in search of a Tiki mug.  




With my quest complete and some amazing Lettuce Wraps in my belly--I sat and relaxed listening to the cool tiki music, watching the volcanoes go off and just staring at the walls of this cool bar.  I always see something new everytime I go inside.

Here are just a few quick pictures from  our vantage point this trip (since I've already covered the Bar extensively in previous Tiki and Disney blogs.

I love Trader Sam's. If I had Bill Gates money I would have a Trader Sam's built for my home.  The only additions i might make would be to add a few talking Tiki Room birds up in the rafters or to add some more additional  Indiana Jones or Pirates items to the walls.   (In case you missed it here are a few pictures I took previously of the Indy related items)

Last night while there I noticed 2 Eagles covers being played as part of the soundtrack. I need to get a hold of those songs. The Eagles are far and away my favorite band and these cool Tiki versions are now my Holy Grail. Anyone know where you can get a hold of these songs?

Trader Sam's Part 3 (More Details) Many left to be discoverd the next time I go

All the cool little details will keep me coming back for more......The food was good we had a great  Cheese Flatbread and  Chicken Lettuce  wrap in this really good sauce......The drinks were good....I had some Blue Hawaiian type drink that was good but not very strong.......If you want strong ---GO to Mahe's in Seal Beach......2 Mai Tais there and forget about it.

Trader Sam's Part 2 (The little Details)

One of the things I've always loved about Disney is the little details......From the Line of the Indiana Jones ride and Jungle Cruise they have always added the little things that make it that much more special.

As we continue our tour through Trader Sam's  Here is a quick look at the main bar area.... Notice  way up at the top the drumming Tikis from the Tiki Room attraction..

Part Tiki Bar /  Part Adventurers  Club from Pleasure Island....It has a mix and feeling of Adventure throughout.......This bizarre Elephant sculpture was intriguing

Interactive fun ----the windows that look out on the volcanoes that erupt every so often.....Another  great feature  --just like the sinking Ship in a the bottle behind the bar that used to be in the Adventurers clud in Orlando
